Booklice Control In Singapore

Voted First In Class Pest Management Services For Homeowners

Issues With Booklice

Booklice are small, colorless insects that lack wings and instead feed off mold and other decaying substances. If you think you have booklice in your home or workplace, check areas like bookshelves, closets, papers or any damp space.

While booklice do not carry disease, they can cause significant damage to homes and businesses by eating through paper products, including books, wallpaper, and even insulation. In addition, booklice can be a nuisance as their constant presence can be quite irritating.

Our Booklice Control Solution

Mold Removal

The first step in booklice control is to remove any mold or other decaying material that the insects are feeding on. This may require some deep cleaning and decluttering of your premise.

Sanitation

The next step is to improve the sanitation of your home or office. This means regularly cleaning and vacuuming, as well as ensuring that there is no standing water or dampness anywhere on the premises.

Insecticidal Spray Treatment

We will administer an insecticidal spray; this will help to quickly eliminate any booklice that are present. However, the spray alone will not solve the problem, as booklice will quickly return if their food source is not removed and sanitation is not improved.

Ensuring Good Ventilation

It is also important to ensure that your premise has good ventilation. This will help to prevent the build-up of moisture, which booklice need in order to thrive.

FAQs Got a question? We’re here to help.

Booklice are tiny, wingless insects that are often mistaken for lice. They are pale in color and have long antennae. Booklice range in size from 1-10 mm.

Booklice attach themselves to wet surfaces, lay their eggs in the pearlescent variety and cement them there. Instead of a larval period, the insect grows through four distinct nymphal stages before maturing into an adult for around a week.

Booklice are associated with wetness. It’s possible that it’s due to the new plaster drying out, inadequate ventilation in the kitchen/bathroom, or a leaking water pipe.

Booklice feed on mold and fungi. They are often found in damp, humid areas where mold is present.

Booklice are not harmful to humans or animals. However, they can damage paper products and books if left unchecked.

– Small, wingless insects crawling on surfaces

– Musty or moldy odor

– Damage to paper products or books

– Obvious mould and damp patches seen in affected areas
